Guatemala

Guatemala holds a special place in my heart. As a place to photograph, Guatemala is as rich in color and subject as any place to which I have travelled. For the past 6 years I have gone to Antigua as part of a Faith in Practice surgical team. This organization sends both medical and surgical teams to Guatemala. It is either the 3rd or 4th largest provider of these services to those who are not able to afford medical care. It is a 4 star charity testifying to the fact that it is well administered and that most of any donation finds it way to the people of Guatemala. The trust that the patients place in us as doctors, nurses and team members, whom on the most part can only converse with them through one or even two levels of interpreters, is amazing! I am looking forward to returning next year.
